With the birth of my son in June 2005, my practice has shifted to being his mom and watching life's mysteries unfold with him. What a great tiny teacher!

Instructor - Monica Paredes I received my teaching certification from the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, MA. Kripalu is known as the yoga of compassion and I believe it is truly for everyone. With its modifications, attention to breath and waves of sensation, it is an effective method for developing a beautiful, healthy practice. Although every Kripalu class is different, there is a unique quality that students will recognize in each Kripalu teacher. According to Sudhir Jonathan Foust, former president of Kripalu, "We teach from the radiance of our own self discovery." By continuously attending training programs, classes and workshops throughout the country I am eager to keep my practice and my teaching alive. When I moved to Phoenix in October 2002, I was blessed to study with Desirée Rumbaugh--a premier Anusara yoga teacher--and my practice became much stronger. Her exuberance and joyfulness in each class are contagious. Through her training, I am better able to "see" the student, which has improved my ability to address their needs. She teaches us to celebrate the Divine in everyone and I am honored by her dear friendship.
I offer private instruction as well
as classes and workshops for
groups and organizations of all sizes. In the years before the birth
of my son my specialized focus was prenatal yoga, working with doctors and
caregivers in developing a unique and gentle program for expectant
women. There is an emphasis on natural childbirth techniques. Other workshops
include combining yoga and writing, and yoga and photography, which
become powerful outlets for expression. Public class schedule
here. Since 2005, I have been passionate about teaching yoga to moms, caregivers and their children. It has been a natural transition to teaching babies inside the womb to welcoming them outside in the world, and continuing their bond with their mothers. I am in the process of completing my Parent & Toddler Yoga book along with designing and manufacturing eco-friendly, nurturing products for our children's practice. Zizu Yogatm is "seriously fun kids yogatm" and its new website will be launched in early spring 2010. Yoga Public Offerings:
